Stay at our Little Inn on a Bluff Above the Cove

In addition to farming and flowering, we have a few other projects up our sleeve. Before this pandemic hit, we were gearing up to open a small two bedroom inn on the island. Connected to Old Chaser, as well as to the shellfish farm we are working on (to be called Little Otter Shellfish Farm), but on a property of its own, the inn is a spacious two plus bedroom home on a high bluff looking west over Colvos Passage. It is surrounded by beautiful Japanese style gardens by the garden designer Terry Welch), has a well-stocked vegetable garden and features a stunning saltwater plunge pool. It’s hard to decide if the highlight of the property is the view looking west over Colvos passage and the osprey circling above, or the saltwater plunge pool between the house and that view. On a hot day, the plunge pool just might win.

Since we haven’t been able to fully open due to the current health crisis, it has largely been rented on a weekly or monthly basis. In addition, we are hosting folks for long weekend stays. We also do small private gatherings….from intimate concerts or weddings, to curated cooking classes and farm tours.

The curated stay at the house is a 3 night, 4 day package that gives one family (or two couples, or 4 friends…or one person with lots of space, whatever your “Pod” looks like…) access to the house and all its amenities, the pool, the yard and gardens (which are fenced, so dogs are great!), and access to the beach and our young oyster beds down the hill. We also provide access to a couple of electric bikes and a couple of kayaks, for those who want a bit of recreating.

Lastly, of course, we stock the house with beautiful flower work by the incredible Brita Fisher as well as some food—vegetables from the farm, eggs, berries, tree-fruits, homemade yogurt and granola…. Food and beverage is basic, including a fully stocked pantry as well as access to the vegetables growing in the garden. Additional food is similar to our larder program and can be curated to your liking. We can, by request, stock as much as you’ll need for your stay, including wine and cocktail fixings. Spatchcocked chickens one night, burgers another, oysters from our farm below… smores for the kids, tequila for the adults…
